SPRINGFIELD — Sometimes you’ll read a news story about someone you thought you knew well and be flabbergasted. That happened to me this month.
John Willard, a reporter I worked with for a decade at the Quad-City Times, died in 2017 at age 74. His wife, Carol, died a couple years later.
