Where would we be if voters were not kept current and educated about city council and school board meetings, budgets, environmental and zoning hearings, politics, court issues and governmental actions at all levels? I’ll end this with Fitzgerald's last line in his book “The Great Gatsby,” “So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past” perhaps again coming to a time to when 10-year-olds will again be going door to door at night hustling for subscriptions to win a trip to Washington D.C.

Tansgenderism must have started as a joke, a couple centuries back. Like, once there were some lazy communist youth in Frankfort, Europe, hatching a plot they imagined capable of corrupting love itself. They made plans, wrote books, sent letters. It started with marriage.

Sore losers are not just a distraction to democracy, they have the potential to undermine it.

Sports are far from the only senior activities that will be canceled or severely altered. That last day of roaming the hallways for a day of school already is gone. Senior skip day went from a day of fun to months of quarantine. I already have seen schools trying to think of creative substitutes for traditional proms and graduation ceremonies. Whatever does happen in regard to those final moments of high school, it will be different.
That’s something you all can embrace. The Class of 2020 always will be remembered for its unique circumstances, so why not make the best of those memories. Everyone else will be sharing the same, traditional memories with their grandkids, but you will have a different story of how high school ended for you.

MUSIC OF THE CIVIL WAR
MUSIC OF THE CIVIL WAR
IIn the 1850s, the decade leading up to the Civil War, music was heard and played everywhere in the country. Classical pieces, opera, dances, religious music, band music, and blackface minstrel songs permeated the culture. Parlor pianos everywhere rang out sentimental ballads, with the music of Stephen Foster the most prominent.
When the Civil war broke out in April, 1861, the country was primed and ready for a musical explosion of patriotism and emotional expression. Publishers poured out an amazing variety of war music beginning with George F. Root's The First Gun is Fired, published only three days after the bombardment of Fort Sumter. From that day, countless songs on many subjects were published daily over the next four years.

Last year’s harvest wasn’t completed until December by several farmers as the extremely wet weather of spring 2019 played havoc with farmers throughout the county. There were some wet stretches in April 2020, but by and large the crop got into the ground on time or only mildly behind schedule.

What can audiences expect if they turn in for “Opera Cabaret”? Staying true to the vision of Opera Up Close, audiences will be introduced to four young Lyric Opera singers performing selections from traditional operas such as “Turandot” and “The Tales of Hoffmann,” to more obscure works of Kurt Weill and Black composers. And of course, John Concepcion will serve as the program’s knowledgeable host, providing background and context for the selections.

And why not? Letting people say whatever they want ought to make them feel better about themselves, so why should I let it bother me? At least it’s better to hear from someone who really cares about anything at all, because, let’s face it, not everyone does.

The Beedles’ daughters were both recently diagnosed with an illness more commonly known as the extremely rare Batten’s disease, which is an inherited disorder of the central nervous system known as neuronal ceroid lipfusinoses or NCLs.
Basically, Batten’s is a terminal disease of the nervous system, a brain degenerative disease. No cure exists. Annabelle’s cells lack the needed enzyme which breaks down lipids and proteins.

The vote to end all votes
Many voters select senators and representatives from the same party as their presidential choice. Why wouldn’t Biden’s ballots by mail not also favor down-ballot votes for candidates from the same party? Because in the early morning hours of November 4, the crooks forging them couldn’t be bothered to do so. And since the time of day ballots are processed is also recorded, we can see these late-night votes were all for Biden.

==================================
MICROPAYMENT -- HOW IT WORKS
==================================
1. Get your paid ticket from Ticket Window #1 with a credit card, or use the free "Sample Ticket" if you have one. Paid tickets cost $8, and work at this or any site participating in the Clean Ticket Company Network. No refunds can be made.
2. The "Sample Ticket" is distributed at the discretion of the publication. The sample ticket works only at the web site of the publication that issued it. Also, they do not work for items marked, “Paid Ticket Only”.
3. To sign in, enter your 7-character ticket code to Ticket Window #9. A publication on the Clean Ticket Company Network is called a “bureau.” If this is the bureau that issued your ticket, you only need to enter the last four characters. Otherwise, enter the first three characters by clicking the bureau icon.
4. Click on a price tag to make a purchase.
It appears immediately in a new browser window. Observe your ticket balance by rolling over Ticket Window #9. When you're finished shopping, log out by clicking the logout button.
5. Your browser must allow "pop ups" because this is how we deliver purchased content. For paid tickets, your browser must allow “cookies”, because this is how a single sign-on works for any bureau on the network. You’ll see when there is an active ticket because the background turns from dark to light.
6. There’s no software to download and maintain for the Clean Ticket Company. It works on any internet device.
TICKETS AND CODES
7. To use your ticket, sign in at Ticket Window #9.
Carefully observe each key as you press it.
Upper and lower case letters are not the same.
8. Even the most experienced computer users
often forget the "caps lock" (which makes all
the letters capitals), and "num lock" (or "number
lock") keys. Carefully check your equipment
for an indicator light that shows if these
keys are on. Key names vary.
9. If the code you enter just won't work, go
back and check where you wrote it down originally,
when you purchased your ticket. If you lose
and forget your ticket code, you have lost
any funds remaining on it too.
10. If a ticket has not been used for 24 months,
it becomes a "lost ticket". Unspent funds are
forfeited to the Clean Ticket Company and the ticket
is extinguished.
11. Paid tickets that don't have enough money
result in a price tag showing, "? $". Go to
Ticket Window #1 to add money to your ticket.
Only paid tickets can have money added to them,
up to a maximum of $16.
12. A paid ticket can be used at any web site
participating in the Clean Ticket Company Network. This
program works on any internet device using the
HTML5 Protocol, which all modern devices do.
HOW TO BUY A TICKET
13. Tickets can be purchased online with a
credit card from Ticket Window #1, which is in
the upper right corner of a micropayment page.
Find this page by clicking the “Clean” button
on the publication’s home page; then the “EXIT”
button will take you back.
14. Please make sure to write down your ticket's
unique, 7-character code as soon as you buy it.
The first three characters (called the "prefix")
are the same for all the tickets sold by a
publication.
15. And to help you remember the last four
characters, each has a little picture that goes
along with it. You first see these when you purchase
a ticket, and again when logging in.
16. There can only be one active ticket at a
time, but the same ticket can be used by more
than one person at the same time. Now that you
are a part of the Clean Ticket Company, you assume
responsibility for keeping your code
secret, or trusting others with it.
17. Ticket windows are closed to tickets
having insufficient balance. If you have a
paid ticket, eight dollars can be added to
it (up to $16). Use Ticket Window #1 at any
participating publication's web site.
HOW TO USE A TICKET
18. Each item for sale has a price tag and
description. Also, there is a little number
in a black square beside the price tag.
These "badges" positively identify the item
that is for sale, and it appears again on
purchased content.
Besides the 2-digit badge number, there is
a 3-digit “spot number”, which is the number
of the calendar day it first went online.
19. After buying a badge, the price tag reads,
“OK”. You won’t be charged for a badge that
is already in your Ticket Report.
20. Your purchased item appears immediately
with a colored rectangle on top, which shows
buttons on rollover. Use the “TXT” button to
save the story in text format, which can be
included in emails. If the “Pen” or “ZIP”
buttons are active, click them to download a
file or folder of related content.
21. For purchased stories, you have a choice
of appearance. For example, the button like a
sun or moon sign switches the colors to light
or dark. If the button "S/E" appears, click
it to switch between English and Spanish.
There is also a button to have the story
read to you, in either language.
22. The TICKET REPORT is a record of how your
ticket has been used. It is shown in Ticket
Window #9. To compose, save or clear this
report, use the buttons provided. Click the
left side of an entry to select it, or the
right side to re-load it into a browser window.
23. To jump to a particular badge, enter
its number in the “BADGE” field at the top
of the micropayment page. To obtain again
an item you have recently purchased, click
on its line in the Ticket Report.
24. Please visit CleanTicketCompany.com, and
read the “2-page Intro”, which explains
more. When the active ticket is paid, you
can also visit and make purchases at other
bureaus by clicking the “ALL” button at
the top of the micropayment page.

1. Los boletos se pueden comprar en línea con una
tarjeta de crédito en la Ventanilla de Boletos #1.
Puedes encontrar la Ventanilla de Boleto #1 en
cualquier sitio web (red) participante haciendo
clic en el botón “Clean”.
Todos los boletos vendidos por una publicación
cuestan $8. También puede comprar un boleto de The
Clean Ticket Company por si mismo, en
cleanticketcompany.com, pero cuesta $9. Por lo
tanto es mejor comprarlo de una publicación
participante.
